PERSONALITY ,

Candace has a loud and distinctive personality. Shouting her opinion in the middle of class is no foreign stranger to her, but, then again, neither is sleeping. Books have never been her favorite thing, after all, but she tries to pay attention in class so she can make decent marks in school. Especially since her parents had worked so hard to send her to Hazelton academy last year. A smart girl on her own, she still passes her classes with grades usually just slightly above average and is perfectly happy with that.
Candace, although loud, can be rather sensitive. She doesn’t like seeing people upset, especially if that someone is close to her. She’s more than willing to take a few hours out of her busy day to help cheer someone up, as long as she doesn’t actually hate the person. If that’s the case, then Candace might actually have been the one to make them upset. No guilt will be felt by Candace either, as she believes that the person she upset had it coming. Candace is not a girl to be messed with. An insult on her or her friends will leave you on the ground with a couple of broken bones.

HISTORY ,

Candace Marie Summer was born along with Samuel on June 11th to Jonathon and Julia in the year of 1992. Her birth was a normal one, no complications started out Candace’s life. She was home and in her crib within a week or so, and lived a perfectly normal and happy life until the time she was to start school at five years of age. On the start of school, there had been an argument between Jonathan and Julia before she left the morning of her first day. It was really over something stupid: what Candace should wear. They didn’t argue for to long over this, but soon, the arguments were getting worse and worse between Candace’s mom and dad.
It was a half a year before the arguments started to be serious; over things like money and if they should move. Candace was really the only reason they didn’t file a divorce immediately, but after two years and a half with nearly nothing but fighting, they decided it would be better for her to live in a little bit of a less hostile environment. So, the divorce was soon filed and Candace would live with her mother for the school year and her father for the summer. Samuel would do the opposite. After living apart for a while, Julia and Jonathon began to get along again, if only for the sake of the child the had both brought into the world. They shared the expenses of having twins through the communication they had with each other.
Candace, being in the middle of her second school year, didn’t really understand what was going on. Her mother chose a place to live where she would still go to the same school, so Candace didn’t really complain besides the questions about where her father and her brother was. Julia tried to explain it to her daughter, but nothing seemed to make the young girl understand. As she grew older and the years past, Candace fell into the familiar routine of moving from her mom’s to her dad’s each year, making friends easily at each place.
Being in New York broke any shyness that Candace might have, except when it came to telling people her secrets. Even so, most people in her middle school didn’t seem to want to accept Candace for the way she was. She made a few really close friends, but that was pretty much it. Candace shrugged it off and continued playing sports whenever they were available. During her last year of middle school, her parents pulled a combined effort and sent both of their children to Hazelton East, where, they hoped, they could restore the bond the two had had before the divorce had taken place.
During Candace’s freshman year, she mixed in with the Jocks, and before she knew it, was one of them according to nearly everyone in the school. She accepted it with a smile and mad friends with nearly all of them. Most of them began to see her as the leader of the Jocks, but this time, she accepted it begrudgingly. She didn’t mind being labeled, as that seemed an inevetaiable part of Hazelton, but leading a stereotype group? Deciding she didn’t really want to go back to only having one or two close friends, she accepted the position as leader of the Jocks at the New York Hazelton, and there she has stayed.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE ,
Candace jogged along the green grass of the park, her I-pod strapped firmly on her right arm and the ear buds tucked in safely inside her ears. There was a slight drizzle that pounded on a steady beat of one, two, three, one, two, three. Candace could hear it through the sound of her music that played in her ear drum. The wires of the ear buds were entwined in her tangled brown hair that was thrown back into a messy ponytail that was bobbling along the back of her neck like a bouncy ball.
The grass was in front of her, and she glanced between and the grey skies, scowling. She hated grey clouds. They were stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid. “STUPID GREY CLOUDS!” she screamed at no one, her feet still swishing with the grass that was soaked with the continued drizzle of the rain. Glancing around, she saw a few of the last stragglers to get inside and little kids giving her some weird looks. She shrugged her shoulders in an up and down motion, before continuing her jog.
She exited the end of the park and slowed down. She stretched again, counting to ten in her head for her cool down. Standing up straight, she walked back to her house. The plane to California was going to leave today and she still had yet to talk to Samuel. She had to get on it and soon, because the plane was leaving in just a few hours now; she was sure. She picked back up to a steady jog to her house, knowing her cell would be on her bedside table, with Samuel’s number somewhere inside.
